Rules of the service
Terms of use
Aproape is a care app for adults. These terms explain what you may expect from the service and what the service expects from you.
These terms apply from 30 August 2026.
What Aproape is
Aproape is a care-coordination app for adults: a private circle for check-ins, messages, medication reminders, tasks and SOS alerts, with an optional feature called «Vorbim?» that can put you in short conversations with people nearby whom you may not have met.
The service is operated by ATOM Technology (the "operator"). You can reach us at admin@atomtech.ro for anything in this document.
Who may use it
Aproape is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create a profile, and the app asks your year of birth and refuses profiles of minors. Do not lend your profile to a minor and do not use the app on behalf of one.
What you may expect from the service
Your circle is private: what you share in it goes to its members and to nobody else. Highly sensitive data is application-encrypted on the server, notifications carry only an opaque event ID, and we do not sell data or show advertising.
Aproape is not an emergency service and not a medical device. An SOS alerts the people you chose, and the app can show you the local emergency number, but it never calls anyone automatically and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. It does not replace a clinician or the local emergency services.
The service is provided as it is, without a promise of uninterrupted availability. Notifications depend on your phone, your network and Google's delivery service, none of which the operator controls end to end. Never make Aproape the only way somebody can call for help.
What the service expects from you
Use the app lawfully and decently. In particular, in any conversation — inside your circle or through «Vorbim?» — you may not:
- harass, threaten or intimidate anyone, or continue contact somebody has declined;
- send sexual content or make sexual advances;
- ask for money, promote investments, or pressure people to continue elsewhere;
- attack people for who they are;
- threaten or celebrate violence;
- impersonate another person;
- send spam or advertising;
- share anything that is illegal to share.
Your content
What you write, photograph or record remains yours. You give the operator only the licence needed to run the service: to store your content, deliver it to the people you addressed, and process it as the privacy policy describes.
When you report a conversation, the text you choose to hand over is stored encrypted and read by a human moderator. That is the one moment your content is deliberately shown to somebody outside the conversation, and it happens only because you pressed the button.
Reports, blocking and suspension
Every conversation surface carries reporting and blocking. Blocking somebody means the two of you are not matched again. Reports are reviewed by a human; our target is within 24 hours.
A report for sexual content, hate or violence suspends the reported person from «Vorbim?» immediately, before any review. Other reports do so when a second person says the same thing. A suspension from «Vorbim?» lasts seven days and never touches the person's own circle, SOS or medication reminders — a stranger's complaint can restrict you from talking to strangers, not cut you off from your family.
If you believe a suspension is wrong, write to admin@atomtech.ro and say so; a person will look at it. Serious or repeated abuse can lead to a permanent loss of the feature or of the account, and content that the law requires us to report will be reported to the authorities.
Ending and changing
You can stop using Aproape at any time and delete your account in the app (Menu → Privacy → Delete account) or from the public deletion page; deletion is described in the privacy policy.
If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will tell you and ask again before you next use the features the change concerns. The date at the top is the version you accepted.
These terms are governed by Romanian law; whatever consumer rights your own country's law gives you remain yours. This document is maintained in Romanian and English; if a translation differs, the English version applies.
